Lorca Families & Teachers at Lorca's McDonalds Fund Raiser
Dear Lorca Parents, Students, and Community Partners,
April 10-14 is Spring Break. We wish all our Lorca families a happy week off! April 7 is also a no school day. We look forward to more Lorca learning starting on Monday, April 17.
As we all know, the Illinois State Board and Chicago Public Schools have adopted the Common Core State Standards. Lorca’s curriculum for Language Arts, Math, and Writing is aligned to these rigorous standards.
Also, our teachers will begin extending our classroom learning to a variety of sites throughout the city, such as The Children’s Museum, Museum of Science Industry, etc.We require all students to have a current emergency form before they are able to attend a field trip with their classroom. Please cooperate with our teachers and Main Office to ensure we are able to contact you during an emergency.
In addition to safety and emergency requirements, Lorca also must comply with the State Board of Education and have current and updated medical documents from our students. This includes physical exams, immunizations, and vision exams. Please let us know if you need help with making appointments. We are here to assist you!
Attending monthly meetings and events is a great way to be involved with Lorca. Everyone is welcome to attend!
